Hat trick of failure

We received our third negative result tonight.

I know we, and I'm pretty sure our friends, are tired of hearing the same old story. There's only so many times and ways people can commiserate with you about your unmet expectations. There's only so many times you really want to hear that something you imagined might never materialise.

I realise it's not the end of the world, and that heaps of other people have been in the same situation, and that there's plenty of time for more attempts. Nonetheless, it's a very hopeless and impotent feeling we're left with today.

I know I (GB) am struggling with the absolutely unverifiable trust that is implicit in this process. It doesn't sit well with my personality or background. And the issues our clinic is inflicting on us compound those feelings. I feel backed into a corner, financially and personally, and I wish it weren't so.

As before, time will pass and things will seem substantially less dire.  But, for the time being, I'm just really disappointed.

  1. Hey there guys,

Very upsetting to read your post and a 3rd failed attempt. We only know what it feels to have failed once, as we wait for the results of a second FET.

I hope you guys don't guys don't give up, and if there is anything we can do please let us know

    Chris and Tim

  2. Sorry guys. I was hoping that third time would be the charm for you guys. Take your time to be upset and come up with your next move when you're ready. Thinking of you guys. C&B

  3. so sorry guys, thinking of u both x

  4. Thanks again for your continued support. Despite our disappointment, we're both thankfully pretty resilient and the only real impediment to us giving up will be a lack of money. The logical, pragmatic side of me (& us) knows it really is a numbers game. Given (as far as we know) that there isn't any fertility issues with either of us, we do believe it is simply a matter of time/attempts before it happens for us.

It's amazing the clarity a couple of nights sleep and time does regarding our commitment to this journey. Unfortunately, our opinion of SI remains unchanged. And how that little chestnut works out.... well we don't quite know yet!

  5. Hi Guys, so sorry to hear about your third negative, this journey is extremely hard one, we know the feeling, just like many others.
You should drop an email to SCI I really do think they may be able to help you both become parents.
They have been extremely supportive of us and I do think that we would have given up by now if it wasn’t for SCI.
Our email is if you want to chat.

  6. Hi Boys, Just wondering how your going. Have you made plans to start over again. Cheers I&D
